CUPRA Born takes home family car accolade

  • CUPRA Born crowned Best Electric Family Car at What Car? Electric Car Awards 2022
  • Born complimented for its comfort, practicality and price point
  • Superior driving dynamics and interior quality also help Born to stand out against strong competition

Milton Keynes, 31 August 2022 – The list of accolades continues for CUPRA in 2022, as the fully-electric Born is named Best Electric Family Car the What Car? Electric Car Awards 2022.

The winners of the Electric Car Awards were determined by a panel of judges appointed by What Car?, who deemed Born as the best electric family car on the market against some worthy competitors.

Recognised for being a top-class all-rounder, Born was complimented on its practicality, comfort and pricing relative to its impressive performance.

Steve Huntingford, Editor at What Car? commented“Born is a superb all-rounder that's strong on practicality, comfort, range, value for money and even performance. And while it's related to the excellent Volkswagen ID.3 that won this award last year, steering and suspension tweaks make the Born more fun to drive, and it's nicer inside, with smarter materials and a more intuitive infotainment system.”

CUPRA Born is the brand’s first 100% electric model, and the start of CUPRA’s journey to becoming a fully electric brand in the future.

CUPRA Born is built with advanced powertrain technology, offering up to 230PS (e-Boost variants), with a battery pack size of up to 77kWh which delivers up to 340 miles (WLTP) of range for an even longer, more engaging driving experience.

CUPRA Born’s range of technology is designed to enhance the safety and comfort of the driver and passengers. Features include full LED exterior lighting, a 12-inch infotainment system, Predictive Adaptive Cruise Control, augmented reality head-up display, Dynamic Chassis Control and dynamic road sign display.
