Drive electric. Unlock tax savings. Embrace salary sacrifice.
Salary sacrifice schemes allow employees to lease a brand-new electric vehicle (EV) as a workplace benefit, paid from their pre-tax pay.
Leasing this way can unlock potential tax savings for employees and employers, while helping businesses meet wider goals – from electrifying their fleet to lowering emissions and even attracting talent.
Explore CUPRA’s range of company cars available for business leasing. With potential lower running costs, road tax exemptions and reduced car tax, these options provide a cost-effective way to enjoy the benefits of sustainable driving.
With salary sacrifice, employees pay for an EV lease directly from their pre-tax pay. This can reduce their taxable income – and the amount of income tax and national insurance they’ll pay.
Employees will have to pay Benefit-in-Kind, as company cars are treated as taxable workplace benefits.
But for EVs, this is fixed at low rates for the coming financial years – just 3% in 2025/26, increasing to 5% by 2027/28 and 9% by 2028/29.
With the vehicle payment taken from an employee’s salary before tax, salary sacrifice can create tax savings for employers. Offering employees the opportunity to reduce personal tax and drive a new EV can be a powerful tool for employee attraction and retention. All this in addition to the emission reductions that EVs can offer businesses and drivers.

¹ Figures for the CUPRA range, including hybrid and battery electric (fully charged to 100%) vehicles. Fuel consumption for battery electric vehicles is N/A and CO₂ emissions are zero while driving. Battery electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles require mains electricity for charging. Figures for hybrid vehicles were obtained using a combination of battery power and fuel. Figures shown are for comparability purposes; only compare fuel consumption, CO₂ and electric range figures with other vehicles tested to the same technical procedures. These figures may not reflect real life driving results, which will depend upon a number of factors including the accessories fitted (post registration), variations in weather, driving styles, speed, vehicle and battery age and vehicle load. Data correct at April 2025.
