CUPRA CONNECT GENERAL FAQs

The Breakdown Call is always activated manually, but in the case of a minor accident (which does not exceed the accident threshold) a popup will appear with three buttons (Activate Emergency Call, Activate Breakdown Call Assistance Call or Cancel). Anyone can contact the Breakdown Call service by pressing the center button in the three-button module or in the "phone" section of the in-car menu.

Your infotainment system will send you a reminder for your next service. If you have consented to sharing your information with your preferred CUPRA Retailer, they will then get in touch with you to arrange an appointment, using your preferred contact method (e-mail or phone).

Your CUPRA Retailer will also receive the following information about your car:

Your contact details (name, telephone and email)

  • Car details (VIN, model year, car model)
  • Current Mileage
  • Type of service
  • Date and time of notification
  • Number of days until next service

A VIN (Vehicle Identification Number or Chassis Number) is a unique 17-digit assigned to your CUPRA and is a combination of numbers and characters.

You can find it in your registration documents but you can also see it on the bottom left side of the windscreen as you stand facing the car.

With Horn and Turn Signals, you can find your car in a large car park once you're within a 500m radius. You can also activate the horn and turn signals separately.

For safety reasons, it's not possible to activate this service while driving.

The Horn and Turn Signals service only works if:

  • Your car is parked
  • The engine is off
  • The bonnet and boot are closed
  • The Anti-Theft Alarm is not active
  • Your device is within 500m of your car. Please check that the position of your parked car in the app's GPS is correct

The optional Volumetric Alarm is activated automatically when you lock your car. If the car detects any attempt of theft and activates the alarm signal (consisting of up to 30 seconds of beeping and up to 5 minutes of flashing hazard lights), a push notification in the CUPRA CONNECT App (if you have allowed Push notifications) informs you of the event. Additionally, an automatic email is also sent.

The notification tells you if unusual activity has been detected at or in your car, or if the inclination of your vehicle has changed. It also tells you what part of the car the (attempted) access took place (interior or exterior), as well as the date and time that the incident occurred.

The e-Manager is for controlling the charging process of e-HYBRID models. The e-Manager lets you start & stop an immediate charge, providing your car is plugged into a charge point, or schedule charging.

You can also set your e-HYBRID to charge during certain hours only, ideal if you have a specific EV tariff that offers cheaper overnight electricity.

Additionally, you can use the e-Manager to set the maximum charging level (which could improve the use of the battery and extend its lifecycle).

The e-Manager within the CUPRA CONNECT app lets you check the following:

  • Charging status
  • Possible driving range (estimate only)
  • Remaining charge (estimate only)
  • Charging plug connection

For CUPRA e-HYBRID models, you can set departure times for your car via the CUPRA CONNECT app and control the temperature prior to trips.

Your car wakes up in time before departure and automatically charges the battery (provided your car is already plugged into a charge point) and/or adjusts the climate controls to be ready for your scheduled departure time.

The Departure times service also lets you set the following:

  • Battery charging limit
  • Maximum amperage
  • Night time use
  • Charging locations

Yes, you can be notified via push notification (providing you have allowed Push notifications within the app) when your car battery is fully recharged.

Amazon Alexa is only available for Leon and Formentor models.

You might need to download the latest software update on the infotainment system in order to see Amazon Alexa. To do so, check the notification centre on the upper-right corner of the screen. You might also need to restart the infotainment system after that.

Also, you must be registered as a Primary User to access the in-car store.

CUPRA CONNECT TROUBLESHOOTING FAQs

Firstly, check the following:

  • A good internet signal or data connection is available
  • Your car VIN number is correct (see above for how to find your VIN)
  • Your model of CUPRA is compatible
  • A valid service license (where applicable)

If none of the above solve the problem, please contact your CUPRA Retailer.

If you don't register and fully activate CUPRA CONNECT services, you can only use the services required by law (Public Emergency call).

Also, you will not be able to enjoy online services from Safety and Service, Remote Access via the app or Online infotainment. Your navigation will not navigate online and "Hola Hola" will only work with specific voice commands.

If your car was in an area with poor network coverage, such as an underground car park, it may have failed to send parking data to the server. Under normal circumstances (i.e. where there is good network coverage), your car's last Parking Position is sent to the server as soon as the engine is switched off.

This step is not necessary if you directly log into the infotainment system with your CUPRA ID (see “What is in-car activation?”).

The free trial lasts 12 months, and the time is linked to the registration date of your vehicle. You can see the renewal date in your user account. After the free trial period is over, you need to renew in order to keep enjoying the service^.
